Chelsea and Newcastle United are keen on Rayan Cherki ahead of the summer window, with Lyon likely to sell.
According to Fichajes, Rayan Cherki could be Premier League-bound in the summer as many clubs are chasing his signature. The €25 million-rated French whizkid has had Chelsea’s and Newcastle United’s interest before, as the duo will resume their pursuit as Lyon is ready to sell the attacker.

Rayan Cherki has been in the news for over six months, as his Lyon future remains in considerable doubt. The €25 million-rated French whizkid has been one of the top talents to come out of the Ligue 1 club’s academy, and he, too, could be Premier League-bound like many others.
Some reports suggested he was uninterested in a move to Fulham in January, and that’s understandable given the other clubs keen on the attacker. For instance, Chelsea and Newcastle United are a few of those seriously considering summer approaches, as Lyon could sell.
Chelsea, among other clubs, were told a considerable figure ahead of the January window. However, in the summer, Lyon could sell for considerably less with a €25 million price tag mooted about. That may appear logical, given Cherki will enter the final year of his deal after the current season.
Newcastle United has been in the market for some of the top young profiles from around the world, and at that price, Cherki will undoubtedly feature on their list. The same goes for Chelsea regarding looking at the brightest talents, as the €25 million-rated French whizkid will become a significant target.
Chelsea, in particular, have had good relations with Lyon recently owing to their business for Malo Gusto. The same could also be said for the Magpies, who signed Bruno Guimaraes from the French side in January 2022. Hence, the Premier League duo could have an upper hand in the negotiations for Cherki.
Cherki could have had more suitors.
Given that Lyon has put their talented star in a precarious position with many factors at play, Cherki may not even want to renew terms with the club. He may instead choose to play in England with Chelsea and Newcastle United interested.
Meanwhile, other clubs are in the mix for Cherki, with Manchester United also interested. Some more might join the race after learning his asking price.
