Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United will have to fork out £30-40 million to acquire the services of Rayan Cherki.

According to a report by Football Insider, Newcastle United are keen on having Rayan Cherki in their ranks. The Magpies have focused on signing young players with huge potential of late and they could make a move for the French youth international in the near future.

Cherki has come up the ranks at Olympique Lyon. He made it to their first team back in the winter of 2020 and the 20-year-old already has over 100 appearances. He has even contributed towards 31 goals. His impressive rise and exceptional performances have attracted a lot of attention.

Newcastle seem to be very interested in the French youth international’s services. They could make a move for the 20-year-old in 2024. They feel he has the potential and are willing to make an investment.

Meanwhile, Cherki’s contract at the French club ends in the summer of 2025. With a new deal unlikely, Lyon do not have many options and they will have to sanction a sale after the end of the season. According to the report, the French club will let him leave for a fee of around £30-40 million.

But, they won’t let him leave in the winter as they are battling relegation. Lyon are currently bottom of the league and they are yet to win a game. Cherki could prove to be an important player as they battle for survival. But, if they drop to the second division, they will have to reduce the asking price as well.

While the Magpies are keen on having him in their ranks, they are not the only ones interested even Chelsea have been monitoring him for a while. The Blues are long-term admirers of the 20-year-old. They might have already invested in new attacking midfielders but could still go in for the French youth international.

Manchester United are also interested in the Lyon sensation. The Red Devils are looking for a player who is young and can make them more threatening going forward. And, Cherki seems to be a great fit for the club. The French youth international is versatile and could help strengthen the flanks as well as the centre of the park.
