Everton could allow Jarrad Braithwaite to leave for a knockdown price

Manchester United and Real Madrid receive a major boost in their pursuit of 21-year-old Everton defender Jarrad Braithwaite.

According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United and Real Madrid are both looking to bolster their defence and they have their eyes on Jarrad Braithwaite. The 21-year-old has shown great promise at Everton and he could be available for a cut-price in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Braithwaite came up the ranks at Carlisle United and he made it to their first team back in 2019, a year later Everton managed to acquire his services. The centre-back was out on loan at PSV Eindhoven last season. He had an exceptional loan spell as he featured in 36 matches and even contributed towards six goals.

Since returning to his parent club, he has featured in 26 matches and has established himself as a mainstay. The 21-year-old has huge potential and his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Manchester United are Real Madrid are both keen on having him in their ranks.

The Red Devils are looking to add more depth to their defence. Their key defenders have suffered because of injuries and that has had a huge impact on their overall performance. The club are looking to bolster their defence by signing someone who can help them in the long run and Braithwaite seems to be an ideal fit.

Even Real Madrid have had difficulties at the back because of injuries. While they are still doing good on the pitch, they do need defensive reinforcement. And, given the age of the majority of their defenders, they need to freshen things up by signing a young defensive sensation. The Everton centre-back is an ideal candidate but they are behind United in the race as per reports.

While Everton would love to have him in their ranks for years to come, they might be forced to negotiate a cut-price deal for their star in the summer. Earlier in the season, the Liverpool-based club were handed a 10-point deduction which has forced them into the relegation battle.

They are currently in the drop zone with only 15 games to go, if they drop to the second division it will spark massive interest in a cut-price deal. Even if they survive the drop, they could still be forced into such a deal if Everton’s proposed takeover by US-based group 777 Partners falls through.

If the takeover doesn’t happen, clubs will look to make the most of the situation and submit low-ball offers for the 21-year-old.
