Real Madrid are considering a move for Jarrad Branthwaite as a backup option to key target Leny Yoro in the summer.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are eager to capture a solid young centre-back in the summer, and they are considering a plan and an alternative idea. Jarrad Branthwaite has emerged as a backup target for Carlo Ancelotti, who might have wanted Lille’s Leny Yoro on priority.

There is a group of young, emerging centre-backs in the European market that every club would want to get a shot at. Real Madrid are in that mix, with Florentino Perez showing a particular interest in bringing the best young profiles from around.
For instance, they have signed Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham in recent windows. The Real Madrid chief continues to search the market for other options and had set sights on Lille’s Leny Yoro recently.
The operation to bring the teenage defender seems complicated, and hence, they are considering Jarrad Branthwaite as an alternative. Everton could sell the 21-year-old in the summer amid links to Real Madrid and other clubs, including Manchester United and Newcastle United.
An approach from Real Madrid might do wonders for any player, and in Branthwaite’s case, he would likely turn his head towards the Bernabeu. However, he could also choose to continue in the Premier League, considering he would want to play regularly, something he may not achieve straightaway at Real Madrid with the current players ahead of him in the pecking order.
Newcastle United and Manchester United are also keen
A host of English sides have already shown an interest in Branthwaite following his rise in the last 18 months. The 21-year-old flourished on loan at PSV Eindhoven last season, and this season under Sean Dyche, he has become a mainstay in the Everton backline.
However, with the Toffees still stuck in deep financial problems, many Premier League sides like Newcastle United and Manchester United could sniff around for Branthwaite in the summer. The player may also feel the need to step up in his career and take on a more significant challenge at a club capable of winning honours.
Hence, while Real Madrid’s entry in the race will undoubtedly make them one of the favourites, Manchester United and Newcastle United are not far behind either. Much will depend on the player and his decision to leave Everton.
