West Ham United have switched their attention to Al-Ittihad winger Jota and are eyeing a loan move as their move for Ibrahim Osman stalls.

Jacob Steinberg has claimed that West Ham United are now eyeing a move for unhappy Al-Ittihad winger Jota as an alternative to Ibrahim Osman. A move for the 19-year-old is on the verge of collapsing as David Moyes seeks a loan move for the 24-year-old Portuguese winger.

West Ham seek Jota loan deal

David Moyes wanted to shore up his attacking setup this month and had firm eyes on securing a winger as a priority. The Hammers have chased many attacking options, including Aston Villa star Jhon Duran. But the Colombian is all set to stay with Emery’s side.

In recent days, they had held advanced talks with FC Nordsjaelland for Ibrahim Osman, with the player also insistent on a move. However, with the move on the verge of a collapse, the Hammers have switched their attention elsewhere and now target a loan move for 24-year-old Portuguese winger Jota instead.

The Al-Ittihad forward has had difficulties adapting to life in the Middle East and has not played in the Saudi Pro League since September. There are big chances of the Portuguese winger moving clubs before the closure of the January transfer window, although a loan move may appear the likelihood.

West Ham had considered a move for Jota, but earlier, Al-Ittihad may have wanted a permanent sale of the attacker. However, with the chance of trimming their squad and then the opportunity to make a permanent decision on the 24-year-old’s future in the summer appearing, a loan move may be on the cards, with the Hammers keen.

Ibrahim Osman deal stalls

West Ham had been intent on bringing the Ghanaian to the club this month, and after various failures elsewhere, they earmarked the winger as the right option. However, his club’s demands may have scuppered a move.

Fabrizio Romano insists Osman wants a move to West Ham but is not treating any issues like forcing his way through. He also suggested the Hammers had already agreed personal terms with the teenage winger, which has made their path a bit easier.

However, FC Nordsjaelland want more money, having already rejected an €18 million offer recently from the Hammers. It appears the London side are not too keen on overpaying for the winger, which might have seen the deal collapse for the time being. If West Ham go on to sign Jota, then the Osman chase can be considered over.
