West Ham United are in advance talks for Ibrahim Osman
According to Football Insider, English club West Ham United are very keen to land Ibrahim Osman and are now in talks with FC Nordsjaelland to secure his services.
The 19-year-old came through the ranks at Ghanian side Right to Dream Academy before moving to Farum to play in the Norwegian first division in 2023. He has since developed into a promising talent and is today among the finest young players in the league.
Osman is primarily a left-winger but is capable of playing anywhere along the frontline. This versatility makes him an ideal player for teams who are keen to employ the modern mobile form of football. He has played 39 games for the Nordsjaelland first team, scoring five goals and assisting four more in the process.
The Hammers have made a bid of £15.4 million for the teenager but the Norwegians have already rejected it. Nevertheless, West Ham remain confident they can secure their man. With just days to go before the 2024 January transfer window ends, David Moyes will hope his side can get the deal over the line.
Despite not being the only side in the fray for Osman’s signature, the Hammers are considered to be ahead of the pack. As the favourites, the onus will now be on them to make Nordsjaelland an offer they cannot refuse.
The UEFA Conference League holders are enjoying another promising season and bringing in the right players will certainly aid their quest for a strong end to the 2023/24 season. An attacker is on the agenda with Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto also being considered.
While the Italian is more experienced in the Premier League, Osman has the raw minerals to develop into a top-tier talent. Should he live up to expectations, the 19-year-old will secure the Hammers’ left flank for the decade to come.
Osman is certainly an exciting talent but is far from the ready article. In fact, should West Ham land their man, they might very well consider it a coup for years to come.
