Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of the 27-year-old Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

According to a report by FC Inter News, Manchester United are keen on having Denzel Dumfries in their ranks. The 27-year-old has been on their radar for a while now and they would love to bring him to Old Trafford. His contract renewal talks with Inter Milan have hit a standstill and he could end up parting ways next summer.

Dumfries made a name for himself at PSV Eindhoven before making the move to Inter in the summer of 2021. The Dutch international has since gone from strength to strength. He has featured in a total of 114 matches for the Italian club and has contributed towards 27 goals.

He has made quite a reputation for himself thanks to his consistent performances. The 27-year-old is amongst the best wing-backs in the world and Inter are keen on having him in their ranks for years. But, the Italian club are not in the best of situations because of the fact that his contract runs out in the summer of 2025.

They have been in talks with the player’s representatives for a while now but both parties haven’t managed to find a middle ground. The Dutch international seeks a significant increase in his wages. He is asking to be paid €5 million net per season. But, Inter haven’t offered him anything over €4 million so far.

Dumfries will be 28 in a few month’s time and this probably is his last long-term contract in Europe. As a result, he would love to make the best out of it. However, Inter don’t seem to be in a position where they can afford to give him what he wants. As a result, a move away in the summer seems to be the best possible outcome.

Inter will try to avoid a situation where he has the option to run down his deal and leave for free. Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in the 27-year-old. Erik ten Hag is desperate to have an attacking right-sided full-back and Dumfries is a perfect fit for that role.

Meeting the player’s demands won’t be a problem for the Red Devils. But, a possible transfer depends on the future of the Dutch manager. If he manages to remain in the driving seat in the summer then United will surely push hard for his services.
