Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, with Trabzonspor interested.

According to Sports Digitale, Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are working on signing Jorginho this month. But the Italian international has now turned down the opportunity to join them and will likely remain at Arsenal until the end of the season.

Jorginho on the Move Soon?

The experienced midfielder has a contract with Arsenal until the end of this season, but the Gunners have an option to extend his deal for another year. However, he will likely leave the North London club in the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old midfielder has not been a regular starter for Arsenal, and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. Leaving the club permanently would have been ideal for him this month. It will be interesting to see if other clubs decide to come in for him before the January window closes.

Jorginho has proven himself in English football over the years, and he was a key player during his time at Chelsea. He was brought in to add more depth and quality to the Arsenal midfield last year.

Although the veteran has been a useful squad player for Arsenal, he has not quite enjoyed the same importance he had in the Chelsea setup. The experienced midfielder has been linked with a return to Serie A, and it remains to be seen whether he can secure a move to Italy this year.

What Next for Jorginho?

Returning to Italy could be ideal for him at this stage of his career. Jorginho does not have a future at Arsenal, and leaving them would be ideal for all parties. However, the Gunners are currently pushing for the league title, and they are unlikely to weaken the squad midway through the season.

They will struggle to bring in quality replacement during the January transfer window. So, they might decide to keep the Italian international at the club until the end of the season. He has extensive experience of Premier League football and will continue to be a useful option in the midfield.

Apart from his ability to control the tempo of the game and keep the play ticking, the Italian international is very effective from set pieces and with spot-kicks. Jorginho is highly regarded around European football, and it will not be surprising if other clubs decide to test Arsenal resolve.
