According to a report by TEAMtalk, Kosta Nedeljkovic is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. And the Villans have sealed the agreement on personal terms with the highly-rated 18-year-old right-back. The Midlands outfit will pay around £6.8 million to Red Star Belgrade to land the teenage sensation.

Who is Kosta Nedeljkovic?

Kosta Nedeljkovic is one of the brightest young right-backs in the Balkan region. The Serbian whizkid is a product of the Red Star Belgrade youth division, rising through the ranks at the club before making his first-team debut last year. He broke into the senior team at the onset of the 2023/24 season after a solid loan stint with Graficar Beograd.

The highly-rated 18-year-old right-back has already made 18 appearances for Crvena Zvezda, even turning out in the UEFA Champions League this season. Meanwhile, Nedeljkovic’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many well-known clubs, including Aston Villa.

Aston Villa Want Nedeljkovic

Aston Villa’s interest in Kosta Nedeljkovic stems from the drop in stature that Matty Cash has experienced. The Polish international has been in and out of the starting lineup under Unai Emery this season. The Aston Villa manager has often utilised Ezri Konsa, a centre-back, as a makeshift right-back this term.

So, it is hardly surprising that Aston Villa entered the January transfer window scouring the market for a right-back. The Villans are active in multiple competitions, with a surprise Premier League title tilt possible. So, it is hardly surprising that Emery wants the necessary signings to bolster his squad for a gruelling second half of the 2023/24 season.

Kosta Nedeljkovic has thus emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa. And the two parties have sealed the agreement on personal terms, with a January move close to happening. The Midlands club will shell out £6.8 million to sign the highly-rated 18-year-old right-back.

Judging by the latest update, Nedeljkovic should be an Aston Villa player in the next few days. It will be interesting to see if the Serbian defender can hit the ground running at Villa Park and become a pivotal figure for Aston Villa.
