Real Madrid might offer one of Vinicius Tobias and Nico Paz in the deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Jeremie Frimpong is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. But the Merengues want to bring Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price down. So, they might offer one of Vinicius Tobias and Nico Paz in the deal to sign the Dutchman from the Bundesliga club.
The Rise of Jeremie Frimpong in the Bundesliga
Jeremie Frimpong has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Bundesliga since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Celtic in January 2021. The 23-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last three years, excelling whenever he has played as a wing-back.
That has also been the case this season, with the Dutch defender being one of the most productive players in the Bundesliga this term. Frimpong has contributed to 17 goals in 22 appearances thus far this season, finding the back of the net seven times while providing ten assists.
The youngster’s progress at Bayer Leverkusen has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs are keen on signing him, with the high-flying Aston Villa ready to trigger his release clause. But Real Madrid might become the front-runners to land him.
Real Madrid Battle Others in Jeremie Frimpong Chase
The opportunity to join Real Madrid is often hard to turn down, especially when you have the chance to become the undisputed first-choice starter in your position. That will also be the case with Jeremie Frimpong, considering Dani Carvajal is on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the final phase of his glittering career.
In addition, Lucas Vazquez and Nacho are in the last months of their Real Madrid contract. So, it is hardly surprising that the Merengues are keen on signing Frimpong. But they are considering a part-exchange deal to sign the 23-year-old, weighing up offering one of two youth prospects in the arrangement. So, Real Madrid might propose one of Vinicius Tobias and Nico Paz as a makeweight.
It is unclear if Bayer Leverkusen will be open to parting ways with Jeremie Frimpong in a part-exchange deal. But the opportunity to sign one of two highly-rated Real Madrid prospects might be appealing. It will be interesting to see if such an arrangement sees the light of day.
