Turkish international defender Caglar Soyuncu has been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid.

According to Sky Sports Italy, Roma are keen on signing the 27-year-old Turkish defender and they will face competition from Premier League giants Fulham.

The London club have already submitted a €20 million offer to sign the Turkish defender and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature. Roma were reportedly hoping to sign the player on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

It is fair to assume that Atletico Madrid will certainly be more attracted to selling the player permanently and therefore the offer from Fulham will be quite tempting for them. The defender has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish club during the first half of the season.

Fulham are in need of defensive reinforcements and the 27-year-old could prove to be a useful acquisition. He has shown his quality in the Premier League in the past with Leicester City. He is certainly good enough to start regularly for the London club.

The opportunity to return to the Premier League could be an attractive proposition for the Turkish international. He knows the league well and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact.

Fulham would do well to secure his services in the next few days. Signing a proven performer in the English top flight for a fee of €20 million could prove to be a bargain in today’s market.

The Londoners have looked vulnerable defensively and they need to tighten up in order to finish the season strongly. They have already conceded 35 goals in 20 league matches this season. Fulham will need to improve defensively if they want to secure a top half finish this season.

The 27-year-old defender is at the peak of his powers right now and he will be expected to hit the ground running in the Premier League. Despite the interest from Roma, the Italian club will struggle to compete with Fulham in terms of resources and therefore it is fair to assume that the player could be heading to the London club soon.
