Aston Villa and Fulham are battling for Felipe Anderson this month as the Brazilian attacker continues talks with Lazio over a new contract.

According to Calciomercato, Felipe Anderson has emerged as a target for Aston Villa and Fulham, with the Premier League sides set to wage battle for the Brazilian with Juventus. The 30-year-old continues to hold discussions with Lazio over a new deal. But there is still a gap between the expectations set out by both parties.

A Premier League return on the cards for Felipe Anderson?

Felipe Anderson has rediscovered his best self after returning to Italy after a terrible spell with West Ham United. He barely got out of the blocks with the Hammers, but moving back to Serie A has paid dividends, especially for Lazio.

The 30-year-old Brazilian has been a key figure under Maurizio Sarri. But there are problems with his contract renewals. Some clubs have already been alerted to the possibility of Anderson moving out in January, as Tottenham had shown an interest.

Aston Villa and Fulham appear like the clubs keen to bring the 30-year-old Brazilian back to the Premier League. There is a big chance for either side to sign him, although they face stiff competition from Juventus. The Cottagers have had eyes on experienced signings who can help them in the short- to medium-term going forward.

Aston Villa are in the market for a winger, as they have been since the summer. There are links to several players, including some from the Premier League. Unai Emery also remains keen on Emile Smith Rowe. But Anderson might appear like a cheaper and more experienced option if they feel the need for such a player.

Lazio are optimistic about a renewal

As per the report, Anderson and Lazio appear to have reached an impasse over a contract renewal. The 30-year-old Brazilian is open to staying and penning a new deal. But his €4 million salary demands have proved problematic.

Lazio are open to offering a four-year deal with a €3.5 million annual salary, and they remain optimistic over an outcome. Whether they succeed in this quest remains the question. Still, the pressure is undoubtedly on the Italian side, considering Premier League sides can easily offer that kind of money to the Brazilian.

Hence, there is a big chance for Aston Villa and Fulham to grab this opportunity to bring the 30-year-old Brazilian back to the Premier League and use his experience in their quests for the season.
