West Ham United have reportedly reignited their interest in 26-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Max Kilman.

According to a report by talkSPORT, Max Kilman is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are in the market for a centre-back in the ongoing transfer window. So, they have reignited their interest in the Wolverhampton Wanderers captain, who they also targeted in the summer transfer window.

Who is Max Kilman?

Max Kilman has come leaps and bounds since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2018. A former trainee at Fulham, the 26-year-old spent most of his formative years going under the radar. He did not attract much spotlight in the early years of his professional career but has risen to prominence in the last half a decade.

The London native has established himself as one of the most underrated defenders in the Premier League in the last five and a half years. Kilman has also become the club captain at the Molineux after the departures of Conor Coady and Ruben Neves.

Meanwhile, he has turned out 128 times thus far for Wolverhampton Wanderers, chipping in with two goals and two assists. With Kilman’s leadership ability rising to prominence, he has gained suitors in the last few years. These include West Ham United, who considered signing him in the summer transfer window.

Move Across the Premier League on the Cards?

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were also keen on signing Max Kilman in the summer transfer window. But the two Premier League heavyweights have not retained their interest in the 26-year-old. Meanwhile, West Ham United will look to secure his services this month.

West Ham will look to part ways with Nayef Aguerd in the January transfer window. In addition, Angelo Ogbonna is well into his thirties and approaching the end of his career. So, it behoves West Ham to sign a centre-back in the ongoing transfer window, with the Wolverhampton Wanderers captain emerging as a viable target.

But the 26-year-old will unlikely seal a move across the Premier League midway through the season. Wolverhampton Wanderers are rising in stature under the tutelage Gary O’Neil and will hope to seal a top-half finish. So, West Ham might have to look elsewhere for a centre-back this month.
