Tottenham have reportedly submitted a €25 million offer to sign Radu Dragusin, with Genoa demanding a fixed price of €30 million.

According to Rudy Galetti, Tottenham have made an opening offer for Radu Dragusin amounting to €25 million. Genoa are open to a sale but seeks at least €30 million fixed for the 21-year-old defender as talks continue between the two clubs.

Tottenham make an opening offer for Radu Dragusin

Tottenham had set sights on signing a new central defender and had earmarked Radu Dragusin as that target. Spurs had opened direct talks with Genoa to find a solution and accelerated their pursuit over the last few days.

Spurs were ready to make a verbal offer, and now it appears they have lodged their first bid worth €25 million. Genoa are not satisfied with the proposal as they seek at least €30 million fixed for the 21-year-old defender. As per Rudy Galetti, talks are progressing well, and there’s confidence about reaching an agreement.

Fabrizio Romano stated Ange Postecoglou wanted a new centre-back signing wrapped up as soon as the coming week. In the case of many names, the 21-year-old January target is the easiest one to access in the current market, and they have gone for it.

Having lodged their first offer for the defender, Spurs may now look to accelerate talks and find an agreement with Genoa for the Romanian centre-back. They might end up paying close to the €30 million asking fee, but ideally, they would want to close at that price, including add-ons.

Radu Dragusin’s easy availability key for this deal

As reiterated earlier, Tottenham are desperate for a new centre-back to join their squad, having faced numerous problems this season due to a lack of depth. Spurs are currently without their preferred pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, with the dup facing time on the sidelines.

Eric Dier could leave in January, while Ben Davies is not considered the ideal choice to play as many games as he has this season. Hence, Dragusin’s easy availability was critical for Spurs to follow the 21-year-old January target, and now they are inching closer to signing him.

They wanted Jean-Clair Todibo on priority earlier, but negotiations with OGC Nice will take up a lot of time, something Spurs did not want. Hence, the club could fulfil Postecoglopu’s wish of landing a centre-back early, and that name increasingly looks like Dragusin.
