Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on the capture of Radu Dragusin from Serie A club Genoa this month.

A report from 90min has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have already agreed personal terms with Radu Dragusin. Spurs and Genoa will now look to secure an agreement over the fee for the 21-year-old defender.

Radu Dragusin: Wanted by Tottenham

There have been multiple reports that Dragusin could cost around €30 million this month. Tottenham need to bring in defensive reinforcements, especially with the number of injuries they have had.

First-choice central defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are already sidelined with injuries. So, Tottenham have had to field full-backs as makeshift central defenders in recent outings. Naturally, Spurs have been quite vulnerable at the back, and they have been conceding goals freely.

They will have to improve defensively to finish in the UEFA Champions League positions. So, signing a quality central defender should be their utmost priority in January, with Radu Dragusin emerging as a viable target.

What Can Dragusin Offer to Tottenham?

Dragusin has the potential to develop into one of the best defenders in European football, and he should prove to be a quality long-term investment. The 21-year-old has been highly impressive in Serie A, and he is already considered one of the best young defenders around.

A move to Tottenham could be an exciting step up in his career, and he will look to prove himself at this level. Regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his world-class potential.

If Tottenham can sign the 21-year-old for a reasonable price this month, the transfer could look like a master stroke in the long run. The reported €30 million valuation could look like a major bargain if the player hits the ground running in the Premier League.

Spurs certainly have the finances to get the deal done, and they should look to thrash out an agreement soon. For now, Tottenham have sealed the agreement on personal terms with the highly-rated centre-back.

The North Londoners cannot afford to drop important points at this stage of the season if they want to overtake their rivals and finish in the top four. Tottenham have been linked with other central defenders as well. But it seems that they have now fixed the 21-year-old defender as their primary target for this month, with a move close.
