West Ham United are keen on improving their attacking options, and they are thought to be looking at the Montpellier striker Akor Adams.

Akor Adams has been an important player for Montpellier since joining the Ligue 1 club in the summer transfer window. A report from Football Insider has claimed that the French outfit are unwilling to sanction his departure this month amid interest from West Ham United.

Akor Adams: The Rise and Emerging Interest

Akor Adams has been a key player for Montpellier, and his departure midway through the season could be a devastating blow for the Ligue 1 club. The striker has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Fulham as well.

The Hammers need to bring in attacking reinforcements to do well in the second half of the campaign. They are missing a reliable goalscorer and Adams could have been a solid long-term acquisition for them.

He would be an upgrade on players like Michail Antonio. The 33-year-old is past his peak, and the Hammers need to bring in an upgrade. Danny Ings is a reliable goalscorer in the Premier League, but his availability has been a major concern since his arrival.

Is a January Move for Akor Adams Possible?

Akor Adams striker could have been tempted to move to West Ham this month. But it seems unlikely that the East Londoners can finalise an agreement with Montpellier.

West Ham have done quite well in recent months, and they managed to win the UEFA Europa Conference League last year. They will want to go all the way in the Europa League this season and secure European qualification through the Premier League as well.

They have done well to improve their squad after the departure of Declan Rice. If they can bring in a couple of quality additions in January, West Ham can finish the season on a high. Meanwhile, Akor Adams has scored 28 goals this season with Montpellier and Lillestrom before his move to the Ligue 1 club.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham decide to test the French club’s resolve with a lucrative proposal in the coming days. They certainly have the finances to pay a substantial amount of money for the 23-year-old striker. West Ham have also shown interest in other strikers, including Serhou Guirassy.
