Barcelona sporting director Deco has reportedly formulated an offer worth €30 million to sign Radu Dragusin, a target for Tottenham.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Radu Dragusin is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions are reportedly prepared to fork out €30 million to sign the Genoa defender. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old is also a target for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The Rise of Radu Dragusin

Radu Dragusin has established himself as one of the best young defenders in Serie A since joining Genoa. The Romanian international struggled to establish a foothold at Juventus, embarking on three loan spells before completing a permanent move to Genoa this past summer.

Dragusin’s decision has paid off as he has been a mainstay at the back for Il Grifone thus far this season. The 21-year-old has turned out 20 times across all competitions in the 2023/24 campaign, chipping in with one goal and one assist. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed.

Recent reports have linked the former Juventus defender with many Premier League bigwigs, with Tottenham reportedly being in the pole position to sign him. But the North London club will face stiff competition from La Liga champions Barcelona for Radu Dragusin.

Barcelona and Tottenham Competing for Dragusin

The report by Calciomercato has claimed that Barcelona’s sporting director has prepared a bid to sign the 21-year-old defender. The reigning La Liga champions are ready to fork out €30 million to secure Dragusin’s services. That might be enough for Barcelona’s interest to materialise into a deal to land the youngster.

However, the equation might change depending on Tottenham’s willingness to match Barcelona’s bid or pay more than €30 million. Recent reports have claimed that the Romanian international wants to play in England, giving the North London club the advantage in his chase. And with Ange Postecoglou keen on having a top-class centre-back in his squad, the ex-Juventus prospect is a viable target.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can turn the young defender’s head after submitting a bid worth €30 million. If not, they might see Radu Dragusin moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.
