Aston Villa can sign Kelechi Iheanacho for as low as £10 million in January as Unai Emery eyes a key attacking signing.

According to Football Insider, Aston Villa could push with a move for Kelechi Iheanacho, who they could sign for £10 million or even lower. Unai Emery eyes a solid attacking signing to bolster his options, including bringing the 26-year-old back to the Premier League.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s situation at Leicester

Leicester City allowed some of their stars to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League last season, but that did not include Kelechi Iheanacho. The Foxes wanted their chance of returning to the top flight in the first time of asking, and that involved keeping few of their top stars.

Iheanacho has made a modest contribution to their cause, as the Foxes are six points clear at the top of the Championship table. Leicester remain a favourite, but their bid to gain automatic promotion by winning the title may suffer a blow if Iheanacho leaves.

Many clubs have already shown an interest ahead of the January window. Leicester had reportedly tried to extend his stay, but the Nigerian remains uninterested in extending his stay at the King Power. Hence, the sides keen on bringing the 26-year-old back to the Premier League could have some level of success and that too on the cheap.

Aston Villa’s interest in Iheanacho could have a more significant impact on the player’s thinking compared to other clubs who may have approached. The 26-year-old has immense experience in the top flight, which may play a huge role as the Nigerian can find a way to return to the Premier League.

Aston Villa can sign Iheanacho for £10 million or less.

With Iheanacho’s contract expiring in the summer, circumstances could force Leicester’s hand over a sale. Aston Villa can reportedly sign the 26-year-old for £10 million or even lower if they can find a way to negotiate with the Foxes.

Unai Emery remains keen to add a new attacker to his setup and bring about more competition for Ollie Watkins, Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey. Iheanacho represents a sound investment, given the Nigerian is about to enter his prime and has good experience scoring goals in the top flight.

Villa have also considered Timo Werner as the German continues to struggle at RB Leipzig. However, given the choices for Emery, he might choose Ieahanacho purely based on his overall impact on the team and his prior experience in the Premier League.

Wouldn’t question Emery’s judgement but leahanacho just doesn’t seem to be at the level that we need so to me this is a little surprising.
