Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Jacob Ramsey next summer as Jurgen Klopp seeks to continue his midfield rebuild.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool are considering a big summer move for Jacob Ramsey. Jurgen Klopp views the 22-year-old highly-rated midfielder as the right cog to his midfield rebuild. But Aston Villa will pose a problem for the Reds to get a straightforward deal for the midfielder.
Do Liverpool need another midfielder?
Liverpool remained active until the very end of the summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp wanted to address his midfield problems accurately. The Reds missed out on top midfield targets Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, with the pair joining Chelsea, although they did sign a few notable names.
Dominik Szoboszlai arrived from RB Leipzig, and Alexis Mac Allister arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion to fill the midfield gap left by Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s departures to Saudi Arabia. Wataru Endo arrived as the specialist defensive midfielder, while Ryan Gravenberch also joined the ranks from Bayern Munich.
As per multiple reports, Klopp is not done yet with his rebuild, as he might re-enter the market for new midfielders. Those moves may happen in the summer rather than in January, as Liverpool have bigger priorities next month.
Nicolo Barella remains linked with a move, while there is talk of an interest in Joao Palhinha from Fulham. Fulham may price Liverpool out for the latter, but the former remains a target for Klopp. Now, the Reds are keen on Aston Villa’s 22-year-old highly-rated midfielder Jacob Ramsey as a potential summer arrival.

Ramsey is a homegrown boy with Aston Villa running through his veins. He has demonstrated what a precious talent he is, and the club have kept him under wraps for so long. There are barely any top clubs looking at the young midfielder, as the Midlands side have managed to keep him off the radar.
Only recently were Arsenal linked with a move. But then again, Aston Villa will make life difficult for any suitors coming in for their exciting talent. Liverpool might target Ramsey for a summer deal, but Unai Emery’s side will look to price them out of approaching.
In theory, Ramsey would suit Liverpool’s midfield style. But they will show caution about throwing massive amounts of money at the 22-year-old highly-rated star. Hence, any deal will depend on the price and whether the Reds would want to invest heavily in the player.
