Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly prepared a bid to sign Radu Dragusin from Serie A club Genoa.

According to a report by Tutto Mercato Web, Radu Dragusin is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants are keen on signing the Genoa defender in the January transfer window and have formulated an offer to secure his services. But the Red and Blues, who value him at €30 million, do not want to part ways with him until the summer.

Radu Dragusin: A Man in Demand

Radu Dragusin spent most of his formative years in his homeland before joining Juventus in August 2018. The 21-year-old graduated from the Serie A heavyweights’ youth division. But he could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Allianz Stadium, instead embarking on three loan spells.

The most recent stint came at Genoa CFC before Il Grifone completed a permanent deal this past summer. Dragusin has been a mainstay at the back for Genoa this season, turning out 19 times thus far while chipping in with one goal and one assist. Meanwhile, the Romanian international’s progress has not gone unnoticed.

Several high-profile clubs across Europe have set their sights on him. Serie A clubs, including Atalanta, are also interested in the former Juventus defender. But the Genoa centre-back wants to play in the Premier League amid his links with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Keen on Dragusin

Tottenham signed Micky van de Ven in the summer transfer window but also wanted another centre-back. That did not happen, and the failure to sign a second central defender has exposed the North London club’s chinks. When Cristian Romero and van de Ven were unavailable, the Tottenham backline looked vulnerable throughout games.

With van de Ven still on the sidelines, Tottenham will need to sign a new centre-back in January. Radu Dragusin has thus emerged as a viable target, with the North London club in the pole position to secure his services. The latest report reveals they have prepared an offer to sign the 21-year-old, whose price tag is worth €30 million.

Tottenham will prefer to secure Dragusin’s services in the January transfer window. But Genoa will look to keep him at the club until the summer amid the battle to stave off relegation from Serie A. The report cites Spezia’s example after they sold Jakub Kiwior to Arsenal. So, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham’s offer for the €30 million-rated defender seals a winter deal.
