Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho could join another club during the January transfer window after struggling at RB Leipzig.

Fabio Carvalho is currently on loan at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, but he has struggled for game time. He could return to Liverpool in January and then rejoin Fulham as per Daily Mirror.

Fabio Carvalho and His Liverpool Frustrations

The Portuguese prospect joined Liverpool in 2022 from Fulham for a fee of around £7 million. But the transfer has not gone according to plan for him. Initially, he struggled for regular game time at Liverpool, and then he was loaned out to RB Leipzig.

He was expected to play regularly for RB Leipzig. But the Bundesliga outfit have not been able to accommodate him in the starting lineup regularly. Liverpool are now in talks with Leipzig to bring him back to the club in January. The Merseyside club are hoping to loan him out once again, and the Cottagers have shown interest in the player.

A Return to Fulham on the Cards?

A return to his boyhood club could be ideal for him, and it would help him regain his form and confidence. However, Fulham are well stocked in the attacking department, and it remains to be seen whether they can offer the 21-year-old regular game time.

The Portuguese youngster is clearly an elite prospect. But he needs to play more often to fulfil his tremendous potential. He cannot afford to join a big club and sit on the bench right now. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Carvalho has all the attributes to develop into a quality Premier League attacker with the right guidance and experience. If he manages to impress during the second half of the campaign, Liverpool might be able to sell him for a profit at the end of the season.

It seems very unlikely that the 21-year-old has a future at Liverpool, especially with the options they have at their disposal. A permanent exit in January might be difficult, and Liverpool will be hoping to find the ideal destination for him to progress his career with regular game time until the end of the season.

Carvalho is versatile enough to operate as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder. He has the technical ability and goalscoring prowess to improve most mutable clubs in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
