Liverpool attacking prospect Fabio Carvalho joined Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on loan during the summer transfer window.

Fabrio Carvalho has struggled for regular game time at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. And a report from 90min has claimed that Liverpool have decided to terminate the loan deal and bring him back to Anfield in January.

Fabio Carvalho: The Frustrating Story So Far

Fabio Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham at the start of last season. But he failed to make his mark at Anfield in the last 18 months. The 21-year-old barely had any opportunities to showcase his qualities on a consistent basis in the 2022/23 campaign, and sending him out on loan to RB Leipzig this past summer was a wise decision.

Liverpool expected him to play regularly for the Bundesliga club. But things have clearly not gone according to plan. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool decide to send the player out on loan once again. Carvalho needs to play more often at this stage of his career, and he is unlikely to get that opportunity at Liverpool.

The Reds are already well-stocked in the attack, and they will not be able to accommodate the 21-year-old. Carvalho is highly rated across Europe, and he has a bright future ahead of him. Regular football could help him develop and get back to his best once again.

The 21-year-old was expected to develop into a key player for Liverpool when he joined the club from Fulham. But he has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot at Anfield. It remains to be seen whether the 21-year-old can convince Jurgen Klopp to give him more opportunities during the second half of the season.

He is versatile enough to operate as a winger as well as a central attacking midfielder. The 21-year-old will add technical ability, creativity, vision and goals from the final third. Carvalho scored a spectacular winning goal against Newcastle United in the Premier League last season, and there is no doubt that he is capable of succeeding at this level with the right guidance.

Another loan spell could be ideal for him if Liverpool can find a club willing to play him regularly. He cannot afford to sit on the bench during the second half of the season.
