Noni Madueke could reportedly push to leave Chelsea in January, and the west London outfit may be tempted to loan him out in order for him to get some regular game time.

According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs (via GiveMeSport), Chelsea would be open to receiving loan offers for fringe star Noni Madueke if the right conditions are met in January, with the England Under-21 international finding opportunities hard to come by this season.

Jacobs said to GMS: “If the right kind of offer comes in to get him some minutes and then return to Chelsea, if it suits all parties and it’s feasible, it could be something that is considered. But I don’t think that this is a case of an unhappy player, pushing for a permanent exit, as some reports suggest.”

The Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate joined Chelsea for £29 million from PSV Eindhoven during the 2023 January transfer window but has failed to become a regular in west London. He was handed a seven-year contract with a club option for another year. Things have not been smooth sailing since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Playing under his third manager in less than a year at the club, the England Under-21 star has started just one Premier League game this season so far and has been an unused substitute in six league games since Mauricio Pochettino took charge in July.

The former PSV man has scored only once this season, in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon, and was ruled out of their recent defeats against Manchester United and Everton due to a minor injury.

The impressive form of Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer has made finding a place in Pochettino’s starting lineup difficult. Mykhailo Mudryk’s presence in the squad certainly makes things no easier either, while Christopher Nkunku’s return from injury could push the Englishman even further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. Not to mention, he was publicly called out by Pochettino for his off-field actions in late September.

Madueke is now considering a switch in January to find regular minutes to further his development. Still only 21 years old, he was keen to stay and fight for his place at the club, but with no signs of his situation improving going forward, a loan move away to get his groove back could be on the cards in January.
