Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Donyell Malen by intermediaries but not talks with Borussia Dortmund yet.
According to 90 Min, intermediaries connected to Donyell Malen have offered the 24-year-old Dutch attacker to Manchester United. The Borussia Dortmund star could leave Germany in January, with the Red Devils interested in him, but yet to open formal talks with the Bundesliga side.
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund `could get back on the table for yet another transfer deal, possibly even to rekindle a previous one. When connecting the two clubs, the name of Jadon Sancho appears bright on the horizon, with the beleaguered Red Devils winger reportedly keen on a return to Signal Iduna Park.
However, the talk here concerns something other than Sancho: 24-year-old Dutch attacker Donyell Malen. The forward has grown out of love with the tactics of coach Edin Terzic, with a recent report indicating he was ready to leave the club ahead of the January window.
Some reports also indicated Malen was set to be offered to Manchester United recently, and the latest on the story indicated intermediaries had done it to find out the possibility of a transfer. There’s chatter about a potential swap deal between the clubs involving Malen and Sancho, but that does not remain true.
For their part, Dortmund would sell for €30 million in the market, the same price they paid to acquire the 24-year-old Dutch attacker in the first place. He has not performed to expectations, which could see the Bundesliga side enter the market for a high-quality replacement.
Manchester United does have the task of replacing Sancho, who only has a future at the club if Erik ten Hag departs. The club have backed the Dutch manager for the time being, and he might remain beyond January.
As per the report, intermediaries have offered Malen to Manchester United, but the Red Devils have yet to open talks with Dortmund over a move. If the interest in the Dutchman persists, the two clubs might engage in formal conversation before the January window.
For now, there are high chances for Malen to depart Dortmund, but Manchester United are joined in the chase if he does. Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly interested, but nothing to suggest they are willing to push for a move in the next month.
