Hoffenheim’s rising star, Max Moerstedt, has garnered the interest of big suitors like Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to 90 Min, Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on signing teenage Hoffenheim striker Max Moerstedt. The Under-17 World Cup winner already appears to have a massive future ahead, as his club Hoffenheim could open the first team path for him.
Max Moesdstedt has garnered rave reviews for his rise and prominence in German football. The teenage striker, who plays for the Hoffenheim U-19 side, can break through to their first team if he continues performing the way he has.
At the start of this season, Moerstedt was a part of Hoffenheim’s U-17 side, where he scored or assisted 16 goals. He was then promoted to the U-19 side, where he had already scored ten goals in nine games, after which he led Germany in the U-17 World Cup, which they won.
Overall, the Under-17 World Cup winner has had unprecedented success since the campaign began and is already looking forward to a bright future. Hoffenheim are already considering handing Moerstedt another promotion, this time to the first team, which would elevate his reputation.
Manchester United and Chelsea want to sign him for their youth project. The Blues, for instance, are looking at several names in the market, including Copenhagen’s Roony Bardghji, who recently scored a stunning winner against Erik ten Hag’s side in the Champions League.
Similarly, Manchester United are also vying for some young stars, with Portuguese international Joao Neves the most high-profile. Hence, these clubs showing an interest in Moersdetd would not surprise many, as the Under-17 World Cup winner is already showing signs of becoming a future top star.
The German is already 6’4 and developing into a proper No.9, a profile more top clubs are increasingly looking at. While he’s still away from first-team action, his rise at Hoffenheim’s young sides shows his willingness to make the grade with the senior side.
Hoffenheim will not look to sell for now unless there’s an exceptional offer. Moerstedt has a contract with the club until 2026, which gives the Bundesliga side the room and space to make the right decision, as they could ignore the interest coming from Manchester United and Chelsea.
