Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham United are all keen on having 29-year-old Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in their ranks.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham United are all interested in the services of Hakan Calhanoglu. The 29-year-old has been doing wonders since joining Inter Milan, and his impressive performances have not gone unnoticed.

Calhanoglu was a part of AC Milan before he joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2021. He has gone from strength to strength since joining Inter. The defensive midfielder has featured in 112 matches for the club and has even contributed towards 41 goals.

The Turkish international has played all across the pitch over the years. While he prefers playing as a holding midfielder or a central midfielder at this stage of his career, the 29-year-old playmaker was often seen on the flanks or up top in the initial years.

He has been an integral part of Inter Milan’s first team over the past few seasons and still has well over three years left on his deal with them. However, he could end up parting ways with them next summer as Premier League clubs look to launch a pursuit for his services.

Liverpool might have signed numerous midfielders in the summer, but their overhaul is still not complete. They need another defensive midfielder, and Calhanoglu could be a great fit as a deep-lying playmaker given the amount of experience he has.

Chelsea might be focused on signing young players with huge potential. But they do need a bit of experience in their ranks to keep things flowing. They already have multiple defensive midfielders but could still push for Calhanoglu as he is someone who can play anywhere in the centre of the park or attack.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are long-term admirers of the 29-year-old. They wanted to sign him last summer to replace Lucas Paquetà. The Brazilian ended up staying at the London club, and they dropped the idea of singing the Inter midfielder.

Irrespective of what happens with Paqueta next summer, the Hammers will go in for Calhanoglu, and an offer of around €50 million could get them their target. While Inter would love to keep hold of their star, their financial struggles have not ended yet. And, his departure could help them register a significant profit as he had arrived as a free agent back in the day.

We (west ham) have no money due to FFP, we can’t bring in any foreign players due to the home grown quota unless we sell a foreign player and the only ones looking likely to leave are Johnson, Antonio and Cresswell all “Home Grown”. We have a glut of defensive Midfielders and the fact we need a striker and maybe full back cover the story has some legs. lol.
