Newcastle United could start negotiations with Palmeiras for highly rated 17-year-old Brazilian attacker Riquelme Filipi.

According to A Bola, Newcastle United are eyeing a move for 17-year-old Brazilian attacker Riquelme Filipi. The forward is the next in line from Palmeiras to attract massive interest from Premier League and European sides, with the Magpies now likely to start negotiating for his transfer.

Premier League and Spanish sides have known Brazilian rules regarding young players, as those cannot leave until they turn 18. Real Madrid struck a mammoth deal with Palmeiras for their exciting young forward, Endrick, and have invested more than €60 million for his services, although he will only move in beyond 2024.

Other clubs are also looking at some of their other talented youngsters, with Manchester United reporting that they are eyeing a move for Estevao Willian, aged 16. These stars are already showing early promise with the Brazilian club, with Palmeiras ready to accept massive bids in return.

Similarly, there’s also Luis Guilherme, who continues to attract the attention of some of the biggest clubs in England. Another striker, Riquelme Filipi, has boarded this train leaving for Europe. The 17-year-old Brazilian attacker has Newcastle Untied’s attention, with the Magpies eager to tie up a deal.

Filipi will not turn 18 until next October, meaning Newcastle United can only welcome him in January 2025. Yet, they are ready to invest in the future signing of the 17-year-old Brazilian attacker, as they could start negotiating with Palmeiras.

The report states it would take around €10 million to convince Palmeiras to sell Filipi to Newcastle United or any other club. That price point seems like a snippet for Premier League sides, as the Magpies could take the early opportunity to secure a promising talent for the future.

Newcastle United are currently eyeing a move for Marcos Leonardo, who has also impressed with Santos. The Magpies already have a strong Brazilian contingent at the club, with internationals Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton on their side.

As for Filipi, his future could be far from Palmeiras, as he and his entourage could consider an early move to the Premier League if an opportunity came by. Newcastle United are an attractive destination, and if they can sign him now, they might be able to nurture him in the background. At the same time, the 17-year-old Brazilian attacker remains in Brazil until January 2025.
