Ligue 1 champions PSG are reportedly ready to intensify their efforts to sign 18-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro, a target for Real Madrid.

According to reputed French journalist Santi Aouna, Leny Yoro is the subject of interest from PSG. The 18-year-old is also a target for several other high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid. But the Ligue 1 champions are ready to step up their efforts to sign the Lille centre-back next year.

Leny Yoro is a native of Saint-Maurice and began his youth career at UJA Alfortville. But his stint with Villeneuve d’Ascq Metropole alerted big clubs in France before LOSC Lille snapped him up in 2017. Since then, the youngster has come leaps and bounds, rising through the ranks before breaking into the first-team squad.

The Frenchman made his first-team debut for Les Dogues as a 16-year-old last year. The 18-year-old is now a regular for Lille, turning out 16 times thus far this term while scoring three goals. Meanwhile, Yoro’s progress at the Ligue 1 club in the last 12 months has not gone unnoticed.

Many high-profile Premier League clubs have set their sights on the French wonderkid. In addition, the youngster features on the radar of other European bigwigs, including Real Madrid and PSG. And the Ligue 1 champions are ready to make their move to sign the Lille centre-back.

PSG can do with a new centre-back, considering Presnel Kimpembe faces an uncertain future at Parc des Princes. In addition, recent reports have linked the Saudi Pro League juggernaut with Marquinhos. So, it behoves PSG to invest in a young central defender, with Leny Yoro emerging as a viable target.

As for Real Madrid, the Merengues are in the market for a centre-back. Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Nacho are on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Nacho is in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid and approaching the end of his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Yoro is thus an option worth considering for Los Blancos.

But Real Madrid might have an uphill task pursuing Yoro’s signature if the Ligue 1 champions step up their efforts to sign him. But it will not be surprising if many other European bigwigs rival PSG and Real Madrid for the 18-year-old French defensive prodigy.
