Erik ten Hag is pushing Manchester United to sign Adrien Rabiot, with the midfielder’s contract running out in June.

According to Fichajes, Erik ten Hag wants Manchester United to sign Adrien Rabiot next summer on a free transfer. The Dutch manager will urge the club to secure the 28-year-old World Cup finalist for his future plans, with the Frenchman’s contract at Juventus ending in June.

Manchester United are keen to bolster their squad in the following windows but may not splash big in January. Erik ten Hag may not want foundational signings in the winter window, but he will push the club to make some essential acquisitions next summer.

There are a lot of changes anticipated at Manchester United ahead of the future, with Ten Hag keen on bringing in reinforcements in defence and midfield. The manager also wants a new attacker to complement Rasmus Hojlund, but that’s not a priority now.

Manchester United have faced plenty of problems with their midfield this season, with some of their players performing below the expected levels. For instance, there’s a lot of criticism directed at Casemiro, and rightly so, as the Brazilian has been a shadow of his past self.

Summer loan signing Sofyan Amrabat has also underwhelmed, as Manchester United were long considered to bring in a midfielder in January. The club holds a long-standing interest in Adrien Rabiot, with the 28-year-old World Cup finalist coming very close to signing for them in 2022.

As he signed a one-year extension with Juventus last summer, the Frenchman may leave next summer. Fabrizio Romano has already ruled out a January exit for the midfielder, as the Bianconeri are already short of midfielders following the bans received by Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli.

Manchester United retains an interest in Rabiot and could keep their eyes open if he becomes available. The Frenchman’s contract expires next summer when Ten Hag wants the club to bring him.

The Dutchman remains keen to add Rabiot to his midfield and convinces him to be part of the club’s future. Juventus are confident about extending his deal, but as things stand, talks have yet to move forward. Ten Hag sees the Frenchman’s experience as vital for the club’s future and is ready to push Manchester United for his signing.

When Rabiot’s contract edges closer to its expiration, plenty of other clubs could come in for his signature. He has held talks with Manchester United before, and the Red Devils will hope those factors can swing the transfer in their direction.
