Bournemouth will demand a £40 million-plus fee for in-demand striker Dominic Solanke next summer, as they are uninterested in a January sale.

According to Football Insider, Bournemouth will likely demand a £40 million-plus fee for key striker Dominic Solanke next summer. The Cherries are aware of the growing interest in the 26-year-old ahead of January but will not consider selling him then.

Bournemouth have not had the best of seasons so far, and only recently have they started showing sings of progress under Andoni Iraola. One of the areas the Spaniard has focused upon is the form of his strikers, with Dominic Solanke benefitting from it.

The 26-year-old former Chelsea and Liverpool man has already matched his best tally in a top-flight season and will be expected to have a good season ahead. With six goals under his belt, teams are already considering securing Solanke ahead of the January transfer window.

Back in the summer, Fulham and West Ham were keen. But Bournemouth held their ground by probably asking for more money. The Cherries are not considering selling the 26-year-old before the next window but will view offers in the summer if interested parties can meet with their valuations.

West Ham have recently shown an interest amid a need for a new frontman in their ranks. The recent injury to Michail Antonio has put things into perspective for David Moyes, who could urge the club to sign a new striker.

Other teams are also considering approaches, but Bournemouth feel Solanke is too vital for their chances to survive this season’s relegation battle. Hence, they are unlikely to entertain offers in January but will open their doors in the summer if clubs can fork out a £40 million-plus fee.

They feel their valuations are on par with the current going rates and will look to bring in a fee closer to their record sale of Nathan Ake a few years ago. Solanke will undoubtedly look forward to a new challenge in his career if a team like West Ham or Fulham knock on Bournemouth’s doors.

For now, he could remain at Bournemouth for the remainder of the season. But he will think hard about a move away in the future. There is the total sense in how the Cherries think about this transfer. But they have the dictating power, considering the striker still has four years left on his deal.
