Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool keen on Matheus Reis

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are some clubs keeping firm tabs on €50 million-rated Brazilian wonderkid Mathues Reis.

According to Calciomercato, Fluminense teenager Matheus Reis has attracted massive interest from Premier League clubs. He is the next exciting talent coming out of the Brazilian market who is yet to make a first-team appearance, with Fluminense demanding his €50 million release clause.

The Brazilian market for teenage talent has exploded in the last few years, with some top continental clubs exploring many young talents here. Chelsea have made it one of their priorities to bring in some of the exciting talents from South America, focusing on Brazil.

Recently, Barcelona promised to pay a hefty sum for Vitor Roque, while Real Madrid invested heavily in Endrick. Similarly, Chelsea also signed Angelo Gabriel and Andrey Santos. And now, they are setting their sights on another raw gem of a talent in Matheus Reis.

The Blues are one of the teams looking at the Fluminense youngster, with Liverpool and Arsenal also in the hunt. Reis has yet to make a first-team appearance but appears close to making one in the coming period. However, there is interest from top Premier League sides.

Arsenal and Liverpool are already in contact with Fluminense for their midfielder Andre, and the report suggests they must have spoken about Reis. The 16-year-old has a release clause of €50 million on a contract until 2028, something the Brazilian club will demand.

As per the report, Premier League sides are not overly worried about the price tag, as they could pay significantly for the €50 million-rated Brazilian wonderkid. Arsenal, in particular, have had good connections in Brazil, as director Edu Gaspar would surely understand what it would take to sign Reis.

As per FIFA rules, the player cannot move before he turns 18, and this is seen as an investment for top clubs. Clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea must make clever movements to ensure they can sign the €50 million-rated Brazilian wonderkid.

For how the market has transpired, other talents like Estevao are attracting interest, which shows how the Brazilian market has evolved. Seeing the interest coming in from the cash-rich Premier League sides, teams like Fluminense and Palmeiras will likely take full advantage of the transfer speculation.

As for Matheus Reis, if Premier League clubs decide to pay the full price for the 16-year-old, it will be considered a risk of sorts as he is not yet played for the first team. That is something these clubs are willing to do, and invest in the future.
