Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking the progress of 18-year-old English midfield sensation Jobe Bellingham.

According to a report by Football Insider, Jobe Bellingham is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The 18-year-old has become a pivotal figure for Sunderland since arriving from Birmingham City this past summer. And his performances have captured the attention of the North London club.

Jobe Bellingham is the younger brother of Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham. Like his elder brother, he set the stage alight with his exploits for Birmingham City. But the Real Madrid star has been exceptional outside England, making his mark for Borussia Dortmund and Los Blancos.

As for Jobe, the younger Bellingham has also captured the attention of many high-profile clubs. The 18-year-old English midfield sensation first rose to prominence last year, with Tottenham and Real Madrid setting their sights on him. But the teenage prospect remained in England, joining EFL Championship outfit Sunderland.

The Englishman has hit the ground running for Sunderland, starting every Championship game thus far. Bellingham has turned out 17 times across all competitions thus far, chipping in with three goals and one assist. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Tottenham Hotspur.

As iterated earlier, Tottenham considered securing Bellingham’s services in the summer transfer window. While a move did not materialise, the 18-year-old English midfield sensation remains on the North London club’s radar. That is hardly surprising, considering the Premier League giants constantly scour the market for highly-rated young prospects.

Such an outlook also meant Tottenham signed Ashley Phillips in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, they have shown interest in other young prospects like Samuel Iling-Junior. As for the eagerness to secure Jobe Bellingham’s signature, Tottenham will continue monitoring his progress at Sunderland.

A January move should be out of the question, especially considering how Bellingham has prioritised his progress over joining a big-name club. But it will not be surprising if he becomes a top target for Tottenham heading into the 2024 summer transfer window.
