Manchester United will prioritise signing 23-year-old OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Manchester United are looking to reinforce their defence in the January transfer window, and they have their eyes set on Jean-Clair Todibo. The 23-year-old centre-back has made quite a name for himself and has been on the radar of the Red Devils this year.

After coming through the ranks at Toulouse, Todibo joined Catalan giants Barcelona. But things did not work out for him at Camp Nou, and he joined OGC Nice in the winter of 2021. It was an initial loan move that was made permanent in the summer of that year.

Post that, the 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength and has featured in a total of 114 matches for the French club. Todibo has been putting in some impressive performances over the past few seasons, and they have not gone unnoticed.

Manchester United are keen on having him in their ranks. The Red Devils are looking to reinforce their defence, and he is their priority transfer target. Erik ten Hag’s team have not made the best of starts to the new season.

They have struggled, and a major reason for that has been the number of injuries their key defenders have picked up. With a few of his defenders still out, ten Hag is looking to sign someone in the winter. He wants to sign a young defender who can help them in the long run and Todibo seems to be a great fit.

The Red Devils want to acquire the services of the 23-year-old Frenchman to bolster the right side of their defence. He might have a contract with the French club that runs until the summer of 2027. But Manchester United are willing to prise him away from Nice, prioritising a January move for him.

Meanwhile, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is all set to acquire a 25% stake in the club. The acquisition is expected to be completed by this week. The minority takeover will bring in a lot of changes at Manchester United. But the initial focus will be signing players to ensure they can turn their fortunes around.
