Evan Ferguson has been linked with a move away from Brighton & Hove Albion, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur keen.

Evan Ferguson has established himself as a key player for Brighton & Hove Albion, and he has proven his quality in the Premier League. A report from talkSPORT has claimed that the 19-year-old striker is valued at £100 million, and he has been linked with clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

It will be interesting to see if the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham are prepared to pay £100 million for him in the coming months. Chelsea could certainly use a quality striker right now, and Ferguson would be a solid long-term investment.

Although the £100 million asking price might seem steep, the youngster has the potential to justify the investment in the long run. Chelsea recently spent a club-record fee on Moises Caicedo from Brighton, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to spend big money on another Brighton player in January.

Ferguson will want to continue his development with regular football, and Chelsea will probably have to offer him game-time assurances before joining the club. The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson during the summer transfer window. But the Senegalese has not been able to live up to the expectations apart from a few showings. Signing a quality striker in January should be a top priority for them.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur need to bring in a quality long-term replacement for Harry Kane, and the 19-year-old certainly fits the profile. He could sort out Tottenham’s goalscoring department for the foreseeable future if he joins the club. The 19-year-old could thrive in their attacking system as well.

However, it seems highly unlikely that Daniel Levy will sanction a £100 million move for the striker. It is fair to assume that Brighton will have to lower their demands for the transfer to go through. But the high price tag might have been set with the aim of detracting the prospective suitors.

Ferguson is already performing at a high level in the Premier League, and he could make an instant impact for Tottenham and Chelsea if he joins the club. The Republic of Ireland international scored ten goals across all competitions last season, and he has five goals in 11 league matches so far this season.
