Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Saint Patrick’s Athletic defender Sam Curtis.

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Manchester United have already made contact regarding Sam Curtis. But they will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Newcastle United for the 17-year-old.

Sam Curtis has recently been named the Republic of Ireland Under-18 player of the year 2022 and he is regarded as a prodigious young talent. The 17-year-old has a bright future ahead of him and it is hardly a surprise that the top Premier League clubs are keen on signing him.

Manchester United have a proven track record of nurturing talented young players into established stars, and they could help the 17-year-old fulfil his potential. The Red Devils have an impressive pool of young talent at the club, and Curtis would be a solid long-term investment for them.

Manchester United need to add more depth to their defensive unit, and the youngster could prove to be a quality option for them. They have been linked with more experienced defenders as well, including Jean-Clair Todibo.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur need to add more depth in the back four as well. It will be interesting to see if they can win the race for the 17-year-old’s signature. They recently signed another talented young defender in Ashley Phillips as well.

Similarly, Newcastle United have invested in talented young players recently, and the 17-year-old would be another quality investment for them. The Irish defensive sensation needs to join a club where he will get a clear pathway to the first team. He cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club at this stage of his career.

Ample first-team opportunities will be the key to his development and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. All of the aforementioned Premier League clubs have the financial resources to get the deal done and they would be exciting destinations for the player as well.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks and where the 17-year-old ends up eventually. Curtis could prove to be a bargain in the long run if he manages to fulfil his potential in the Premier League.
