Manchester City rival Real Madrid in Reece James pursuit

Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing 23-year-old Chelsea defender Reece James, also a target for Real Madrid.

Reece James has been linked with an exit from Chelsea in recent months. And well-known journalist Simon Phillips has revealed that Manchester City will battle it out with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the signature of the Chelsea mainstay.

Reece James has established himself as a key player for Chelsea in the last few years, and he is undoubtedly one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Manchester City and Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are prepared to sanction his departure in the near future, although it seems highly unlikely.

Manchester City need to bring in a quality long-term replacement for Kyle Walker and James certainly fits the profile. He could sort out the right-back position for Manchester City in the future. The Chelsea defender is quite impressive at the back and he is equally good going forward. He would add a new dimension to the Manchester City attack as well.

As for Real MadridLos Blancos will have to replace the long-serving Dani Carvajal in the coming years, and they need to bring in a quality replacement.
