Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old French defender Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea.
A report from Calciomercato has claimed that Juventus are keen on signing Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea in the January transfer window. The Serie A club’s transfer expert Cristiano Giuntoli was recently in London to zero in on his top targets.
Chelsea signed the defender from AS Monaco on a seven-and-a-half-year contract back in January. So, it would be quite surprising if the West London club decided to sell him just after a few months at the club.
The 21-year-old Frenchman is highly rated around Europe and he could prove to be a useful option for the Blues in the long run. Chelsea, who signed him for £35 million, need to bring in defensive reinforcements in the coming months, especially with Thiago Silva expected to move on. Selling another central defender could prove to be quite surprising.
Juventus need more quality in the defensive unit, and it is no surprise that they have identified the 22t-year-old as a potential target. The Frenchman could prove to be a quality acquisition for them. Even if Chelsea were to sell the defender in the coming months, they would look to make a profit on the £35 million they paid for him. So, Juventus might struggle to afford their asking price.
It will be interesting to see out the Frenchman feels about a potential move away from Stamford Bridge. He will want to prove himself in the Premier League before leaving Chelsea, and a move to Juventus might not be an attractive proposition for him just yet.
