Arsenal and Tottenham recently scouted 19-year-old Ivorian striker Karim Konate, a target for Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
According to a report by 90min, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Karim Konate. The two London rivals recently ran the rule over several Red Bull Salzburg players in the game against WSG Tirol. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old striker is also a target for Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
Karim Konate spent most of his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the ASEC Mimosas. The Ivory Coast international moved to Europe last year, joining Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022. Meanwhile, the teenage wonderkid has become a regular for the Elephants, making eight appearances thus far.
The 19-year-old has also been making his mark at the club level with Red Bull Salzburg, especially in the ongoing season. Konate has an excellent record of ten goals and six assists in 19 outings across all competitions. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many well-known clubs.
Recent reports have linked the teenage sensation with West Ham United. Meanwhile, the update by 90min has suggested that the young striker is also a target for Crystal Palace. In addition, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur scouted him in a recent match against WSG Tirol.
Arsenal and Tottenham are scouring the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. While Arsenal’s requirement stems from a lack of productivity by Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, Tottenham might delve into the market after not signing a short-term replacement for Harry Kane. And Ivan Toney is a mutual target, with Konate now emerging on their radar.
As for West Ham United, while they signed Mohammed Kudus this past summer, they need a top-notch striker. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace can do with a prolific striker, with neither Odsonne Edouard nor Jean-Philippe Mateta making their mark at Selhurst Park. But the entry of Arsenal and Tottenham will complicate matters for the other two London clubs.
