Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of 29-year-old Argentine World Cup winner Guido Rodriguez.

According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on having Guido Rodriguez in their ranks. The 29-year-old midfielder’s contract runs out in the summer of 2024, as a result, there is a lot of interest in his services from across Europe.

Rodriguez joined Real Betis in the winter of 2020 and he has been a consistent performer for the Spanish club ever since. The 29-year-old has featured in a total of 158 matches and has contributed towards 12 goals. He has had a lot of success on the international stage as well, the former América midfielder was a part of the Argentine squad that won the World Cup last year.

In the ongoing season, he has been involved in 14 matches and has contributed towards two goals. The Argentine international has been integral to the early success that the Spanish club have had. But, he could end up parting ways with the club in the winter.

Rodriguez’s contract at Betis runs out in the summer of 2024. With just over six months left on his deal, the Spanish club do not have many options to play with. They could cash in on his services in the winter or lose him for free in the summer. The player penning down a new deal at this stage seems unlikely.

As a result, Betis could consider parting ways with the 29-year-old. The Spanish club are facing financial difficulties and Rodriguez’s departure could surely help their cause. Meanwhile, Manchester United are interested in the Argentine international.

The Red Devils have had a horror start to the new season and one of the reasons for their poor performances is the form of Casemiro. The former Real Madrid star hasn’t been able to deliver the kind of performances Ten Hag expects him to and the Dutch manager is looking for a potential replacement.

As a result, United have their eyes on the 29-year-old. They feel he could be a great short-term fix and are ready to offer €20 million to land him at the club in the winter transfer window.
