More Premier League clubs have joined the queue to track Shamrock Rovers prodigy Naj Razi, with Arsenal and Liverpool in the mix now.
According to Team Talk, Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to rival Chelsea and Real Madrid for 17-year-old midfield prodigy Naj Razi. The Shamrock Rovers star has attracted plenty of interest from top clubs, but Brexit rules might pose a problem for English sides in the race.
The Irish market hadn’t seen such a flurry before, but now, with their consistent production of top talents, there’s a queue of clubs waiting to take some of their rising stars. Among those is Shamrock Rovers’ 17-year-old midfield prodigy Naj Razi.
An attacking midfielder by trade, the 17-year-old has started featuring in the first team with a fair bit of regularity. Those numbers are pointless when it comes to big clubs showing interest, as they will have envisaged what he could do in the future.
Razi has already shown, with his limited exposure in Rovers’ first team, that he can become a top player of the future. Some players have shown maturity at an early age, and Premier League clubs are on the trail of those; for instance, many sides are chasing Lille’s Leny Yoro, the teenage centre-back with already massive experience in the first team.
Clubs will have a similar vision with Razi, as Chelsea and Real Madrid are already in the hunt. They are now joined by Liverpool and Arsenal, with the Premier League giants looking to battle it out for the 17-year-old midfield prodigy.
Liverpool have held a widespread interest in several youngsters from elsewhere, with Jurgen Klopp intent on adding top talent and developing them into first-team stars. Harvey Eliott remains a prime example of the German’s ability to bring the best out of young talent, and Razi will look at that idea.
Similarly, Arsenal have made headlines for using academy talents in recent years. In their last Premier League game against Sheffield United, as many as four academy graduates featured, with Eddie Nketiah leading by example with his stellar hat trick.
The Gunners are currently intent on keeping some of their present academy talent, primarily winger Amario Cozier-Duberry. They also managed to convince Ethan Nwaneri that his best years are with the club, and on the sidelines, they are keeping a close eye on talents like Razi.
As per the latest stories, the 17-year-old midfield prodigy continues to lean towards a move to Real Madrid and will ignore overtures of the English side if the Spanish giants come in with an offer. Shamrock Rovers will see their top talent leaving for as low as £250,000, which is a sniff for top Premier League sides.
The bigger problem for the English sides are with Brexit rules, which would prevent them from signing Razi until he turns 18. His birthday falls in October, which puts Real Madrid in the spotlight and the front seat in the pursuit of the 17-year-old midfield prodigy.
