Naj Razi has the interest top-rated clubs, with Real Madrid currently leading the chase with Chelsea closely behind.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid and Chelsea are a few of the sides keen on signing Shamrock Rovers teenager Naj Razi. Brexit rules might prevent English clubs from signing him before he turns 18, which has Los Blancos on high alert ahead of the January transfer window.

The best teams are always on the lookout for young talent that could either flourish in their first team or pack plenty of promise for the future. Chelsea have put themselves on the front foot since their takeover last year, after which their owner, Todd Boehly, has insisted on bringing only young players under a specific age bracket.

For instance, Chelsea reportedly passed up the chance to sign James Maddison during the summer because the current Spurs man was over 25. They have spent a ton of money on players capable of improving the first team and those who are considered major prospects for the future.

Chelsea are also focused on several other players in between those two categories, with their pursuit of Valentin Barco a prime example of that. In any case, the Blues are also increasingly looking at other leagues for their promising young talents on the brink of a first-team breakout.

One of those is Irish sensation Naj Razi, with the 17-year-old attracting massive interest from top clubs across the continent. Chelsea are keen and may have made enquiries to find out the conditions to sign him. The Stamford Bridge outfit may know Brexit rules which would prevent Razi from joining an English side before he turns 18.

Razi will turn 18 next October, and with the considerable time between now and then, Chelsea are keen to arrange for a deal now and let the player arrive later, similar to Real Madrid’s deal for Endrick. Coincidentally competing with them are Real Madrid, who have sounded out a move to the Irish sensation, who reportedly prefers a move to the Santiago Bernabeu if he had the choice.

Real Madrid have also stepped up their game in the youth market over the last few years. Their pursuit of excellence has seen them land some of the best talents from around, including Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga in recent windows.

Similarly, they landed Turkish talent Arda Guler, who also had a host of clubs queueing up for his signature during the summer. Their idea of signing stars like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes has already paid dividends, with the Brazilian pair now undisputed starters at the Bernabeu and for Brazil. They are now keen on landing the Irish sensation and are keeping a close eye on his development.

Real Madrid are aware of the benefit those Brexit rules give them and may ponder taking action ahead of the January transfer window. With Razi reportedly considering remaining with Shamrock Rovers for the next two to three years, an offer from the Bernabeu could instantly change his mind, which would also mean defeat for Chelsea.
