Juventus will sell Adrien Rabiot in January if they sign a replacement

Liverpool, Newcastle make moves to sign 29-year-old Frenchman, player wants Real Madrid switch.

Arsenal and Newcastle United have received a major boost in their pursuit of 28-year-old Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Arsenal and Newcastle United are keen on having Adrien Rabiot in their ranks. The 28-year-old midfielder’s contract expires next summer, and Juventus could cash in on him during the winter transfer window if they manage to secure a replacement.

After parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain, things never really went according to plan for Rabiot over the next few seasons. But, he has managed to turn things around over the last 18 months. The 28-year-old has been in sensational form for both club and country.

He had an exceptional FIFA World Cup 2022 with the French national team. The Juventus midfielder was one of the best performers at the global event as he helped Les Bleus reach the final. His club form was not bad either last term.

While he has not started the new season with Juventus in the best possible way, the 28-year-old is still one of their mainstays. With his contract expiring next summer, they are trying their best to extend his stay at the club. But, if they fail to do so in time, Juventus could look to cash in on the French international. And, there is interest in his services from Newcastle United as well as Arsenal.

The Gunners were interested in Rabiot last year as well, and they still remain interested in the 28-year-old. Mikel Arteta wants more depth and quality in the centre of the park, and he feels the French international could help them push for major titles.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United find themselves in a very difficult situation following the 10-month-long ban of Sandro Tonali. Their marquee signing from the summer was involved in illegal betting during his time at AC Milan and will not take any part in the remained of the season following the ban.

As a result, the Magpies are looking for a replacement and they have their eyes set on the 28-year-old Juventus midfielder. He could be an ideal replacement for Tonali, and his experience can surely help their cause.

While the Old Lady could look to cash in on Rabiot in the winter, they will only consider selling if they manage to secure a replacement in time. People at the club have already identified potential replacements.

21-year-old Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic has been on their radar for a while now and he is their priority. But, they also have Rodrigo De Paul on their radar, someone who could be a bit more expensive option. So, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal or Newcastle can land the World Cup finalist.
