According to Fichajes, Arsenal and Newcastle United are interested in Adrien Rabiot ahead of the January window. The French midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer but chose to remain at Juventus.
For two summers running, Juventus have had to deal with transfer speculation regarding Adrien Rabiot. Before the 2021-22 season, he had heavy links to Manchester United, with the Bianconeri even reportedly open to letting him go for free.
This summer, Rabiot attracted plenty of interest as he was very close to entering the Bosman pool with an expiring Juventus contract. The 28-year-old World Cup finalist signed a one-year extension to his deal, with the club also hoping to offer him a long-term contract soon.
The issue for Juventus is the midfielder’s uncertain behaviour over his future. While they want him here for years to come, Rabiot could yet explore the idea of joining one of the Premier League clubs as he entered the prime of his career.
Newcastle United were keen on him alongside other top Premier League sides during the summer. While he may have rejected the Magpies and others during the previous window, he could now become available during the January window.
Juventus could choose to cash in if they cannot progress in contract talks with the 27-year-old World Cup finalist. Arsenal are also keen on the midfielder, as Mikel Arteta could enter the market for a new player in the central position.
For the Gunners, they would look to sign the player on the cheap, as they value his qualities and experience on the pitch. Juventus might hope they could deal with Arsenal and look to sign Thomas Partey, a player they remain interested in.
However, Arteta will unlikely sanction any move for the Ghanaian in exchange as he would want Rabiot on the cheap. As for Newcastle United, they will look to shore up their squad with players of the 28-year-old World Cup finalist’s experience.
The Magpies will particularly remain interested in such a move if they progress from their difficult Champions League group in December. With the money on offer in terms of a contract at St James Park, Rabiot may open his doors to a move there.
Arsenal could also become an attractive destination for the Frenchman. However, if Juventus made him available, there will be plenty of other clubs seeking his signature, especially because he will come on the cheap in January.
