Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of the 20-year-old RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Arsenal and Chelsea are both keen on having Benjamin Sesko in their ranks. The 20-year-old striker has been in sensational form of late and he is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs from across Europe.
Sesko came into the limelight for the first time while playing for RB Salzburg. He joined the Austrian club back in the summer of 2019 and went from strength to strength over the next four years. After proving his mettle while playing for Salzburg, the 20-year-old made the move to RB Leipzig last summer for a fee of around €20 million.
Since joining the German club, the Slovenian international has featured in a total of 12 matches and has been on the pitch for just over 350 minutes. Despite getting limited game time, the 20-year-old has found the back of the net on six occasions and he averages a goal every 63 minutes.
His sensational form hasn’t gone unnoticed. There are quite a few clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Slovenian striker’s contract runs until the summer of 2028 and his value has skyrocketed in the last six months. The 20-year-old is currently valued at €45-50 million. Despite that, a move to a bigger club could take centre stage in the near future.
Arsenal and Chelsea are both willing to go big on the Leipzig striker. The Gunners have two quality strikers in their ranks and they have done a decent job for Mikel Arteta. But, the Spanish manager is still on the lookout for another striker. He wants to sign someone with a different profile and someone who can guarantee goals.
Sesko seems to be a great fit and they have been monitoring him of late. Even Chelsea are keen on having him in their ranks. The Blues have struggled in front of goal in the ongoing season despite having spent millions on new forwards. They do not have a world-class striker in their ranks and are in search of one.
The Slovenian international is on their radar and they feel he could do a great job for them. The 20-year-old could be a great acquisition for their project which has been focused on signing young players with huge potential.
Apart from Chelsea and Arsenal even AC Milan are interested in the 20-year-old. But, the English clubs will surely have a financial advantage in the race to Sesko’s signatures.
