Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in the 26-year-old. Their scouts were present in the stands to watch Simon in action as Athletic Club played out a 2-2 draw with Valencia on the weekend. The Blues also had their eyes on Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Chelsea made major changes to their goalkeeping position during the summer. They sold Édouard Mendy to a Saudi Pro League club and loaned out Kepa Arrizabalaga to Real Madrid. The Blues then went into the market and signed Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic.

While they are quite happy with their summer acquisitions, the Blues are still on the lookout for another goalkeeper. They are in search of someone who can take charge of their goal for years to come. While they have been scouting Simon of late and are interested in acquiring his services, the Blues do have their eyes on other excellent shot-stoppers from across Europe.
