Manchester United are front-runners to sign 26-year-old Real Sociedad centre-back Robin Le Normand, a target for Real Madrid.
According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on having Robin Le Normand in their ranks. The 26-year-old has been putting in some exceptional performances over the past 18 months, and he is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in world football, including Real Madrid. But, the Red Devils seem to be best placed to acquire the services of Real Sociedad centre-back.
Normand joined Real Sociedad back in the summer of 2016. He made it to their first team in the summer of 2019 and has not looked back since. The 26-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the years and of late, he has been in sensational form.
His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and the Real Sociedad defender is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in world football. There was a lot of interest in him during the summer transfer window. But the Spanish club managed to hold onto him as they have Champions League football to offer.
But, a departure in 2024 looks very likely. Real Madrid are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Los Blancos have been monitoring him for a while now and they feel he could be a great asset for their club.
The Spanish giants have struggled at the back because of injuries, and they are in desperate need of reinforcement. On top of that, Nacho’s contract runs out next season, and David Alaba is already 31. As a result, Real Madrid are looking to bring in a young defender, and they feel Normand could be a great addition to their ranks.
While Real Madrid are keen on having him in their ranks, the report suggests Manchester United are best placed to sign the 26-year-old. The Red Devils have struggled a lot in the ongoing season because of injuries to their first-team centre-backs. And, they are keen on adding depth as well as quality to their backline.
