Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos could head to the Premier League to finish his trophy-laden career, with Manchester United and Chelsea showing interest in his services.

According to Football Transfers, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is available on a free transfer at the end of the season and has been offered to Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Still regarded as one of the best playmakers in world football, Kroos has a huge amount of experience at the highest level after spending seven years at Bayern Munich before joining Real Madrid in 2014.

The 2014 World Cup winner has won four Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles during his time in Spain, and he was integral last season, making a whopping 52 appearances across all competitions.

But while his talents have not waned with the years, stiff competition for places at the Bernabeu has seen his importance reduce this season. Jude Bellingham is excelling at the top of the diamond in midfield and almost single-handedly defeated arch-rivals Barcelona in the season’s first El Clasico on Saturday.

With Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, and the ageless Luka Modric also in situ, Kroos is no longer a regular pick for the Spanish giants.

The 33-year-old has made 13 appearances, scoring once and providing three assists, but six of those have come from the bench, amassing just 628 minutes so far. As such, the retired 106-cap Germany international is looking for a new adventure next summer when his existing deal with Los Blancos’ expires.

The Real Madrid star is being offered to the Premier League elite and can discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January onwards. Manchester United and Chelsea are among a number of Premier League clubs aware of Kroos’ availability, with the player eager to finish his career in style and having never played in England’s top flight.

The Red Devils’ links to Kroos would have surely caught the attention of long-term transfer market observers. United actually came close to signing him from Bayern Munich during the 2013–14 season, as the Red Devils embarked on a new era under the management of Moyes.

However, a potential transfer collapsed following Moyes’ sacking at Old Trafford. United now have the option of signing the player for nothing after ten years, although it is unclear if that would be the right move.

Although it’s claimed Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag “could be interested” in bringing Kroos onboard, they are lacking mobility in midfield as it is and already have two ageing midfield enforcers in Christian Eriksen and former Real Madrid star Casemiro, the latter of whom has really struggled for form and fitness this season.

As for Chelsea, their current squad lacks experience, and Kroos could be exactly the kind of player needed to help take them to the next level and help elevate the younger talent around him with his vast experience.

There is no doubting Kroos’ class, and the Premier League clubs even stand good chance of doing a cut-price deal in the winter transfer window. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea or Manchester United make an offer for Kroos in January. If not, they could still try and sign him on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
