Manchester City could make a substantial offer to lure Jamal Musiala, with Bayern Munich yet to figure out a new contract for the German international.

According to Bild via Sport Witness, Manchester City are set to up the pressure on the chase for Jamal Musiala and offer significant money for the attacker. Pep Guardiola remains a huge fan of the 20-year-old Liverpool target, with Bayern Munich risking things by delaying contract talks.

There are players deemed as ‘Generational Talents’, and Jamal Musiala falls in that category. In the current climate, there are a handful of players in that zone, with the Bayern Munich man improving his stature with each passing game.

Bayern Munich certainly know his importance to them for the present and future. Yet, they appear relaxed with his contract situation, as Musiala’s current deal expires in 2026. The report points towards an impasse from both parties, with the player’s camp waiting to see the team’s progress under Thomas Tuchel.

Musiala remains an important part of Tuchel’s side, but even Bayern might wait to see how the market responds. Manchester City are keen on the attacker, with Pep Guardiola considered a huge fan of his talents. The moment he becomes available, the Premier League champions might come in early with an offer.

Manchester City are aware of rival interest in Musiala, with Liverpool one of the clubs keen. A report recently stated the Reds may have to pay more than €100 million to sign Musiala, but Bayern would look to ask for significantly more.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are well-placed for the 20-year-old if it comes down to a race for his signature. However, Guardiola’s side are reportedly prepared to pay significant money to lure Musiala to the Etihad.

The news does concern Bayern Munich a little, which may see them accelerate their efforts to extend his stay at the club. Manchester City are in the market for a young attacker of Musiala’s profile. Fellow German star Florian Wirtz is also a potential target for Guardiola.

The idea of adding Musiala to this star-studded squad at the Etihad will have its benefit. Guardiola has always looked out for talents that suit a system.

Musiala could also become Manchester City’s long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. The latter recently attracted the interest of Saudi clubs. There are chances the Premier League champions can fund a move for the 20-year-old through the Belgian’s sale.
