For Manchester City, he won the treble, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in 49 games last season. He was also instrumental in Argentina’s conquest of the FIFA World Cup, scoring four goals in the tournament. Naturally, those achievements are going to put Alvarez on the radars of many top clubs. But Manchester City have handled his situation rather well.
Manchester City secured Alvarez to a long-term contract, and as per the report, they would demand £80 million to sell him. Some stories have previously insisted the 23-year-old would like to join Real Madrid, with the Spanish capital giants keen on signing him.
Real Madrid are always on the lookout for some of the best profiles in various position and consider Alvarez tailor-made for the club. The Spanish giants will also know the huge price tag of the 23-year-old Manchester City star. But they might still make the move and come up with the required money.
