Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

According to a report by Italian Calciomercato, Tijjani Reijnders is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their midfield department in 2024. Meanwhile, AC Milan will demand around €40 million to part ways with the 25-year-old, who joined them in the summer transfer window.

Tijjani Reijnders is a native of Zwolle and spent most of his formative years in his hometown. He began his youth career at WVF Zwolle before joining PEC Zwolle in 2007. The Dutchman then followed a four-year stint with FC Twente before returning to PEC Zwolle in 2011. But he rose in prominence after moving to AZ Alkmaar half a dozen years ago.

The 25-year-old spent six years at AZ Alkmaar, with his stock rising considerably. And AC Milan beat the competition to secure Reijnders’s services in the summer transfer window. The player has taken no time to establish himself as a regular for the Serie A giants, turning out ten times thus far this term.

The player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs in Europe. Barcelona wanted to sign him from AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window before he snubbed them to join AC Milan. Reijnders is now a target for Premier League heavyweights Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in the market for a midfielder heading into the January transfer window. But they might wait until the end of the season to scour the market and sign a long-term solution to their midfield woes. Several midfielders, including Javi Guerra, have thus emerged on Manchester United’s radar.

But Reijnders is also a viable target for Manchester United, considering his versatility. The Dutchman is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also reprise other roles in the middle of the park. Meanwhile, AC Milan will demand around €40 million to part ways with the player.

The price tag is reasonable considering Reijnders’s potential and performance levels. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain. But it is unclear if he will leave AC Milan after less than a year at San Siro.
